CLUB TOURNAMENTS.

ANNIVERSARY DAY MATCHES

Club tournaments were held yesterday by many local bowling clubs. Following are the results :—

Dominion Road.—First round : Hinkley, Roget, Stone, Hawken, beat Anderson, Bradshaw, Horspool, Brownette; Virtue, Davis, W. Richardson, (ioldsmith, beat a! Chapell, Taylor, Brown, Balderson ; D. Richardson, Swap, Yeoman, Kellv, beat Cannon, Rogers, L. E. Chappeil, Fisher; Gentles, Barton, Winthrop, Layland, a bye. Second round : Goldsmith beat Brownette, Kelly beat Balderson, Layland beat Fisher: Hawken, a bye. Third round : Kelly beat Brownette; Hawken tied with Goldsmith; Layland beat Balderson; Fisher, a bye. Fourth round: Layland beat Brownette; Hawken beat Kelly, Balderson beat Fisher; Goldsmith, a bye. Fifth round: Layland beat Hawken ; Kelly beat Goldsmith ; Brownette beat Fisher; Balderson, a bye. Sixth round: Layland beat Goldsmith; Hawken beat Fisher; Brownette beat Balderson ; Kellv, r bye.

The tournament was won outright by Layland s, with five wins and no losses. Kelly's rink scored four wins and one loss. Mount Eden.—Section A: Marshall and Jacobsen, four wins; Fraser, three win 6, one loss; Dennison, two wins, two losses; Gribble, one win, three losses ; Surman, four losses. Section B : Scantlebury and Comes, three wins, one loss; Hollows, two wins, two losses; Baker and Bigelow, one win, three losses; Smith, four losses. Section C: Battereby and Roylance, three wins, one loss; Ross, one win, three losses; McCarthy, four losses. Section D: Buxton and Nairn, three wins, one loss; Findlay, two wins, two losses; Tongue, one win, three losses. In the play-off, Marshall 13, beat Comes 10, and Buxton 13, beat Davidson 7.

Marshall and Buxton will contest the flnal on a date yet to be arranged. Ponsonby.—A section : McLeod, four wins, one loss; Dick, Parsons, Best, three wins, two losses; Johnson, two wins, three losses : | Mclvor, five losses. In the play-off between McLeod and McGregor, McGregor won by 20 points to 9. ROCKY NOOK GREEN. The bowling tournament played on the Rocky Nook green yesterday resulted in a tie, five wins each between teams skipped by B. Kayes and Pearce with five wins each. The deciding game will be played off next Saturday. The teams are : —Armstrong. Beatt, Buckle, B. Kayes, v. Mason, Berry, Cunningham, Pearce. ST. HELLER'S CLUB. A very successful full nnx bowling tournament wag held on the St. Helier's greeu yesterday, in which sixteen teams took part. Fookes (Carlton) won the A section with five wins, while Russell (Remuera) and Philip (St. Heller's) tied in the B section, the play-off resulting In a win for Russell. The final between Brittain, Rowe, Laurenson, Fookes (Carlton) and Baker, McFarlane, Coe, Russell (Remuera) was then played, and resulted in the Carlton team winning by 14 to 9. OTAHUHU CLUB. Play in the Otahuhu Club's Anniversary Day tournament resulted :— Section A.—Sykes (Otahuhu). 4 wins, 1 loss: Pearce (Otahuhu), 3A wins', 1 loss; Pegler (Manurewa). 2 w'ins, 3 losses; Connor (Mangere), 1} wins, 3 losses; Gardiner (Otahuhu), 1 win, 4 losses. Section B.—Harper (Otahuhu), 4 wins. 1 loss; Ferguson (Otahuhu). 3 wins, 2 losses; Pinkey (Otahuhu). 3 wins, 2 losses; Hollier (Mangere), 2 wins, 3 losses; Fearnley (Otahuhu). 1 win, 4 losses. Play-off of section winners (13 heads) :— Robinson, Nixon, Morton, Harper 11, v. Hickson, Carter, Thomasen, Sykes 10. PAPAKURA TOURNAMENT. Sixteen rinks competed in a four-rink tournament held by the Papakura Bowling Club yesterday. Each rink played five games of 11 heads, two points being given for a win and one for a draw. Nash (Epsom) and Proctor (Remuera) tied for fir6t place with nine points each. In the play off of 11 heads Nash beat Procter 9—7 after an exciting game.

MORRINSVILLE, Monday. ] After winning the Goldfields Stars a few weeks ago and defending them against i Hikutaia, the Morrinsville rink comprising T. Martin, A. Yardley, S. Corni6h and K. Branch, lost to Waihi (Clarke, Farrell, I'aull, J. McDermott), on Saturday, by 24—19. Generally the game produced good bowls, without an element of luck. McDermott trailed kitty his last bowl on the 21st head to make for victory. Branch was lying two for the tie until this bowl was delivered.

TE AROHA V. THAMES.

THAMES, this day. Seven rinks of Te Aroha bowlers visited Thames yesterday and played two games. After an enjoyable day Thames won by eight games to five. MATAMATA V. MORRINS VILLE. MORRIXSVILLE, Monday. An interclub match between Matamata and Morrinsville took place on Saturday, seven rinks from each club taking part. Simpson, Hillam and Edgar James, 4 wins and 1 loss in the section rounds. In the final they defeated J. E. Clark, Blackburne, Boulton and Pearce, who held a similar position in the section rounds.
