Mr. Cameron, of the Farmers' Trading Company, Te Puke, is leaving here this week-end, to take up residence at Paeroa. as supervisor of the bakeries of the company Mr. Cameron was well liked by his friends here, and took a prominent part in the work of the Masonic Lodge.
The annual meeting of the Public Library, called for Friday afternoon last, was so poorly attended that it was decided to adjourn the meeting for a week. The balance-sheet, submitted by the presidentMr. W. E. Hookey, showed a small sum in hand, but rent of the library is in arrears, and unless subscribers take more interest in the working of the library, it may be necessary to close it until such time as funds are available. A meeting of the committee of the Chess Club was held on Friday evening, when the secretary and treasurer submitted reports, balance-sheet and draft rules for consider ation at the annual meeting, to be neja next week.
