TO OPEN IN AUCKLAND NEXT

TUESDAY.

EIGHTEEN CASES FOR TRIAL.

There are 18 cases for trial at the quarterly criminal sessions which will open in the Supreme Court, Auckland, on Tuesday next. Mt. Justice Reed and Mr. Justice Blair will preside, and there will be two courts.

There is one charge of attempted murder, six of breaking and entering and theft, several of serious assault, and a number of cases alleging sexual offences. There is also one charge of bookmaking, committed from the Police Court.

Several prisoners who have already pleaded guilty in the lower Court will appear for sentence on Monday, but the sessions proper will not open until the following day, when the attendance of jurors is demanded.
