MAINS AND STREET LIGHTING
REPORT.
The Auckland Electric Power Board met yesterday afternoon, Mr. W. J. Holdsworth presiding,
The Chief Engineer (Mr. A. 0. Glasse) reported that during the past week the service gangs had connected one underground and 79 overhead services, and erected 14 poles and 8000 yards of cable. On the Penrose-wharf cable link, two lengths were completed in Gladstone Road and Cleveland Road. It was anticipated that the cable would be run into the station before Christmas. The laying of a 16,000-volt cable to Walls Road had been completed, and one joint was made. In Henley Road, Mount Eden, poles and a transformer platform had been erected, while mains and services | were changed to new poles. A start had been made on the 11,000-volt line through to Mangere. In the Clevedon district a camp had been pitched, and poles distributed, while in connection with the Omahu Road change over from direct to alternating current, all roads had been completed with the exception of part of Armadale Road and Moran Avenue. On the McKendrick ParkEstate, Te Papapa. 21 poles and 1900 yards of cable were erected. A new street lighting transformer was erected in Garnett Road, and poles were being erected in Armadale Road to transfer the transformers from Dunkerron Avenue.
