At the monthly meeting of the Taiimnm Electric Power Board It was reported by the general purposes committee that application had been made to the Lo.il R'-di<-s' I.oans Board for permission to raise the Cl'ioO additional in respect of the "(imati-awa-Te Puke line conversion loan. 1!>27." and the Public Trustee had been applied to for the money subject to the consent being given. Mr. .T. R. Boncrard. eneineer. reported that induction regulators hod been installed at Te Puke sub-station, and were operating satisfactorily. Ohauiti extension had bo<Mi completed, and the telephone line to the power house from Muir's Reefs was beins proceeded with. < >rd«*rs for the installation department were coming in freely, and a display of stock was being made at Te Puke showroom for November 21 to 20.
Reference was made to thp suddpn dpnth of Mr. R. L. Smith, who had rpndered faithful pprvippp nrp forpmnn to the board, an<l n compassionate allowancp of toO wap voted to Mrs. Smith, to whom the hoard resolved to send a messacre of sympathy. Accounts totalling £2130 4/ -wore passed for payment.
