ROTORUA.
At a meeting of the Rotorua High School tin agreement was submitted for the board's approval. This provides that the present site of the high school shall he Tested in fee simple in the board, so that the board !na.v obtain a land transfer title to it; that of the revenue from the education reserve in future per cent shall be devoted to teachers' salaries and 4.3 per cent may bp use.l by the board free of control" or direetion by the department, exeept when specifically stated to the contrary. The board would thus be able to provide for si-hool sports of various kinds, and. as funds allow swimming baths, scholarships and oilier purposes approved by the Department. The department undertakes to provide funds for all future enlargements that may be needed, and to furnish and equip the buildings as in other secondary schools, all the accumulated funds to be spent on the high school. A further sum estimated at about £ 2000 will be provided by the department, whicli shall have no clnim on the income of the board, except as agreed. The board confirmed the agreement, and authorised the seal of the board to be affixed thereto. The thanks of the board i wen- accorded to Mr. F. F.
