BUTTER TOO MOIST.
VENDOR COMPANY FINED £5.
A fine of £5 was imposed on F. and W. Carbines in the Police Court this morning by Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., on a charge of selling butter containing more than 1G per cent water. c
A Government inspector stated that the Butter had contained 16.1 per cent moisture. Butter usually contained between 14 and 15 per cent moisture, and, 10 per cent was made the absolute limit. The company had not manufactured the butter, but had offered it for sale.
