LEGISLATION PASSED.

WHANGAREI, this day.
The local bills, introduced by Mr. W. Jones, M.P., have passed both Houses of Parliament, and await the GovernorGeneral's assent to become law. One bill validates the_ £4000 loan raised by the Whangarei Borough Council for unemployed relief. Another authorises the Whangarei Harbour Board to raise a 10 per cent additional loan. A third bill authorises the Kamo Town Board to dispose of the section on which the Kamo Town Hall stood, and provides for the dissolution of the Waipu Public Library institution and the disposal of its assets, etc.
