RETALIATION FOR BOYCOTT
(Received 1.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, this day.
Recently an Australian band returned from a visit to Canada and America. After fulfilling their engagements in C*nada, other engagements were arranged in America, but these were pre▼•nted from being carried out owing to *M intervention of the Musicians' Federation of America. This boycott is deeply resented and a movement is afoot to enact retaliatory measiu-ea. The Musicians* Union in Australia has started a movement with «• object of securing Federal Legislative action to prevent the entry of musicians from the United States into Australia.
It is stated that during the past two y*»rs American banda aggregating over 80 players have been imported to Australia.
