Government.

FALL AND SINCLAIR ON TRIAL.

(Received 12 noon.) WASHINGTON, October 17

The trial of Messrs. A. B. Fall and F. H. Sinclair, who are charged with defrauding the U.S. Government in connection with oil leases, opened before Mr. Justic Siddons, in the Supreme Court, district of Columbia.

The selection of the jury occupied the wst day of the session.

Mr. Albert B. Fall and Mr. F. H. Sinclair were involved in the sale of oil leases during the war, and it was alleged that they had conspired to defraud the Stite. A message, dated October 10, said that the Supreme Court had annulled the lease of the Teapot Dome Oilfields, which Fall granted to Sinclair's Mammoth Oil Company.
