MRS. E. WEBLEY,

A resident of Auckland for over half a century, Mrs. Elizabeth Webley, died recently, aged 82 years. For over 30 years she had been a member of the Baptist Tabernacle. Mrs. Webley was born at Hartland, Devonshire, England, and arrived in Auckland by the ship Agnes Muir, on Christmas Eve, in 1873. She went to live in the old Albert Barracks. Not long after her arrival she was married to Mr. John Webley, who served during the Maori war with the 4th Waikato Regiment. Mr. Webley died about 15 years ago. The following children survive their parents: Mrs. W. Melvin, Green Lane; Mrs. A. Sutton, Ngaruawahia; Mrs. H. Tabrum, Auckland; Mrs. G. P. Kelly, Ellerslie; and Mrs. J. K. Robb, Grey Lynn. There are eight grandchildren and 20 great-grand-children.
