MR. D. D. STEWART.

One of the old time "cabbies" of Auckland, Mr. David Drummond Stewart died yesterday aged 67 years, at his residence Franklin Road. He was the eldest son of the late Dr. Mcßayne Stewart, of Oamaru, and was a popular driver of cabs until the advent of the motor car. He was one of the last to go off the cab rank, and the rest of his time was spent in a motor garage. He was for many years employed by the firm of Pullan and Armytage, and his stand was at the foot of Shortland Street with, another popular driver, Mr. W. Fagan. "Dave," as he was known to his friends, was a most reliable man and a really good handler of the reins. He is survived by Mrs. Stewart. The interment takes place to-morrow afternoon at Waikumete Cemetery
