HAILSTORM IN NORTH.

OROHAKDI DAMAGED. STORM'S PATH VERY NARROW. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. A hailstorm, the heaviest that the North has experienced for many years, swept over Whangarei yesterday afternoon. Fortunately, it was of short duration, but it was sufficient to damage the new season's fruit materially, and market gardens also suffered. The sitting of a Court was interrupted by the noise of the hail on the roof. A peculiarity of the visitation wbb that the width of the storm's path did not extend beyond the northern and southern extremes of the borough.
