The Transport Workers' Union has killed the prrposed alliance with the miners, railwaymen, engineers and I others. The secretary, Mr. Ernest Bevin, at J the conference, pointed out that a similar alliance under the General Council of the Trades Congress broke down during the 1926 strike. Therefore his union, after careful consideration, is terminating its association with the Industrial Alliance, and vesting sole authority in its own ! executive delegate at the conference ballot.
