POLICE COURT.

BREACH OF ORDER. John Deneby, aged 47, was charged with being found drunk in Federal Street and with a breach of his prohibition order. He pleaded guilty. Senior Sergeant Edwards stated that accused had six previous convictions for drunkenness in the past six months and one previous breach of his order. Deneby was fined £5, or in default, 14 days on each charge. WANTED TO FIGHT. Early on Saturday evening Leonard Walton, aged 19, wanted to fight Edward Melbourne Gilbert, aged 21, in Victoria Street East. A constable came on the scene with the result that both were this morning charged with fighting. Gilbert pleaded guilty. Walton'did not appear, but was represented by Mr. Sparling, who entered a plea of guilty. The arresting constable stated that Walton was stupid with drink. He bumped into Gilbert, who was perfectly sober, and wanted to fight him. The charge against Gilbert was dismissed. Walton was fined £1. STAYED TOO LONG.
"Is this another one of these cases," said Mr. Hunt, when Ching Moon Chung, aged 27, was charged with remaining in the Dominion for a period longer than thatj allowed in his permit. Mr. W. A. Penn, Collector of Customs, said that accused had agreed to sail by the Niagara which sails on September 27. Chung was remanded until September 28. Bail was allowed at £100.
OTHER CHARGES PENDING. Joseph McGovern, aged 56, was charged with, at Putaruru, on or about July 13, he did steal a watch and chain valued at £12, the property of Hugh O'Flaherty. Chief Detective Cummings in asking for a remand Until nest Monday, said that there were other charges pending against accused. The temand was granted.
