, PALMERSTON, N.,. this day. The three games which Manawhenua contested at Palmerston North with the Raiifurly Shield at stake, drew large attendances. The Taranaki "gate" was £580, the •WaDganui return £565, and that of the . Canterhury game £850, totalling almost £2000.
The pront to the Manawhenua Union means that it will be able to carry out its .Southern tour next year without embarrassment.
