ATTRACTIVE BOUT.

m BROADFOOT MATCHED WITH

lackie Mcdonald.

COMING AUCKLAND CONTEST

•Tim Broadfoot. of Auckland, whose successive victories over Loveridge and McKnight have placed him right in' the top-flight of New Zealand middleweight boxers, has been matched by the Northem Boxing Association with Lackie McDonald, the tough middle, end the pair will meet on September \9 over fifteen 2minute rounds for a £100 purse and .expenses, in the city Town Hall.

[ Broadfoot may be expected to come in great trim, for a victory over McDonald would put him in direct line for a fight with the Dominion champion, Harry Casey, who beat Lackie on points for the title. On that occasion it may be mentioned McDonald's condition was not considered what it should have been by some who were present. As he ha* been fighting fairly regularly lately : Iroadfoot is in good condition, but b« i : « reported to be puttinjr in extra work for this bout. Much the same is reported from McDonald's training quarters, where it is realised a defeat by j Broadfoot would not help Lackie to get a return bout with Casey for the title.

By his showing against McKnight, who won bouquets in Australia and who is on his way to America, Broadfoot showed himself to be not only a good two-handed fichter. bnt a much better boxer than bad been thought by many followers of the game. He is undoubtedly the improving sort, and McDonald should have to be at his best to win.

McDonald met Casey no less than fmir times, and it was on the last creation that he lost his title. In previous hoi«t« ""eh had got a derision on point*, and McDonald a decision on a foul.
