WANT TO RETURN HOME.
UNEMPLOYED IMMIGRANT*.
DEPUTATION TO MINISTER.

TLMAKU. Monday.
The Mayor and representatives of tbe Citizens' Unemployment Committee waited on the Hon. F. J. Rolleston, Attorney-General, to-day and asked on behalf of immigrants who arc out of work and wi?h to return to Kngland whether they would be allowed to do so! before the expiry of live years' residence in tbe Dominion.
It was stated that many immigrant*! are in a bad pligbt and consider they would have better prospects of obtaining work in England than in New Zealand.
The Mininter asked that tbe name of j each immigrant wbo desired to return to England be forwarded to him and promised to see what could be done.
In reply to a question aa to whether the Government would asust thine immigrant* financially to return to England, the Minister said be did not think tbe Government would assist any immigrant to return borne if he bad been monetarily! assisted to come here.
