NEW WOOL STORE.
ALFRED BUCKLAXD AND SON'S. The well-known firm of Alfred Buckland and Sons have just had erected a spacious modern three-storey wool store in St. George's Bay Road close to the waterfront. It is intended to use the new building immediately for handling and displaying wool, sheepskins, hides and kindred products, and as a store for grain, seeds and. fertilisers.
A special feature is the very fine display floor for wool, perfectly lighted, where the bales will be etacked and opened for examination and valuation by buyers from the principal wool-consuming countries of the world. Buckland and Sons, Ltd., have not overlooked the importance of the store being close to the railway and shipping facilities and the cite has been well chosen in this respect.
The equipment is thoroughly up-to-date to meet present and future requirements. In fact, the design has been worked out to cover every possible need, even to the provision of an electric passenger lift. The architects are Messrs. Chilwell and Trevithick and the contractor ie Mr. R. A. Cornish.
