FIRE BRIGADE ANNIVERSARY.

Tho One Tree? Hill Volunteer Fire Brigade licld a successful smoke concert in the fire station. Green Lane, on Saturday eveninc. The buildine was tastetully decorated with flacs and creenerv. About 220 visitors and visiting firemen from suburban brieades were present and enjoyed the items and menu provided lor them. Owing to Mr. R. G. Clark, chairman of the One Tree Hill Road Board, beiiiß in Wellington, Mr. C. Mclntosh presided. Amongst the visitors were Captain T. J. Watts, advisory superintendent of Volunteer Fire Brigades in New Zealand and secretary of the L'.F.B.A.; Secretary Osborne. treasurer of both associations; Captain C. Gilbert. V.R. of U.K.8.A.; Captains Vause, president of A.D.F.B. Association; Superintendent Wilson and representatives of other local bodies. A first-class musical programme was supplied by the Ramblers Orchestra and Messrs. W. Piircell, Harris. Forshaw, Meldrum, Bickerton, A. Wright, J. Smithson, H. Samuels and others. During the evening the chairman presented the following members with twoyear service bars:—-Foreman J. A. Gray, 15 years service; Fireman A. J. Lucas; \H years; Secretary W. Watson.
