Olsen, the New Zealand h« » mile champion, will .gain be available, and as he intends concentrating mainly on the middle-distance events it may & farther improve v n « lue ., l ' s9 ' wh,cn he "petered ii the half-mile at Auckland last year.

O. 8. Cabot, New Zealand one mil* walk champion, will again bo on the trade

Otago's hope in the hurdles will be H. D. Morgan, who won the New , ZtrliiH 440 yds hurdle title two years ago, but did not defend it last If he strikes form -he will take a lot of beating in the quarter-mile hurdles. He also has several decisions over R. W. Lander in {he 120 yds hurdles, though he is hardly as good as Lander, who is expected to be very hard to beat this year.

Bert Geddee, of Invercargill, is Otago's best sprinter, on last season's form, bebing the holder of the Otago 100 yds and 220 yds title. He was unable to compete in the New Zealand championships last year, but if he reproduces hie form in November and December he will be a strong man for Otago. He is a son of Mr. Arthur Geddes, the well-known old time Southland footballer, and expresident of the New Zealand Rugby Union, who is now an All Black selector.

In the distance events 'Otago is not strong, but the team will be strengthened by J. G. Barnes, who ran third to R. A. Rose at Wellington in the one mile championship last season, and did well here in cross-country events during the winter.

In Held events the most likely man is J. O. Leckie, who is also well-known as the New Zealand heavyweight boxing champion. Leckie threw the hammer at the Otago championship* a distance of 127 ft llin.
