STATE INSURANCE OFFICE. v MIL SAVAQE DISSATISFIED. fefe-y - - - • ■- (By -'Telefraph. — Parliamentary Reporter.) > ' WELLINGTON, Friday. "I don't think that this philosophy of keeping step- with the private offices is right, and I'm wondering if sufficient effort is made to secure new business for the Statelnsbrance Office," remarked Mr..'M> J. Savage (Auckland West) in House of Representatives this afternoon. " ■ The wings of the office had been clipped to such an extent that it seemed the State was waiting for business, instead of going out after it. ''Personally I've never met a representative of the State office,, either ili respect of life or "fire, but I meet the representatives of other offices everywhere. I don't blame the officers responsible. They are not to blame, because- everything Las, been clipped down." The Hon. W. Nosworthy: There was a £24,000 increase in premiums last year. Our canvassers are out, and they-ire pushing for. all the business they can. Mr. Ravage: I'm very glad to hear it!
