EDUCATION CONTROL.
CENTRALISATION OPPOSED. SCHOOL COMMITTEE'S PROTEST.
At a meeting of the Maungawliau School Committee the following resolution was passed, and it was decided to forward a copy to the Minister of Education: "We have been unofficially informed that it is the intention of the Government to curtail t"<e powers of education boards and to have educational administration centralised in Wellington. We are of the opinion that any move tow«"ds the abolition of education boards would be opposed to the best interests of education.".
