UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF.
WORKS IN AUCKLAND.
In connection with the unemployment relief scheme at the Beach Road Reserve, Point Chevalier, and Epsom, the Government has granted a subsidy of £978. Ihe allocation is: Beach reserve, £628; sports and playing ground. Point Chevalier, £50; Epsoin drainage, levelling, £300. The Mayor, Sir. Geo. Baildon, said at the City Council's meeting last evening that the ordinary rate of wages would be paid. . _
