MASSEY MEMORIAL.

HEW DESIGN FAVOURED. GREEK CROSS ABANDONED. (By Telegraph. — Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. A meeting of the Masscy Memorial Committee was held at Parliament Buildings yesterday, when Mr. Hurst Seager, who has been advising the committee regarding the memorial, submitted further reports. The committee bad some months ago tentatively approved the erection of a large granite Greek "rose, identical in design with that on iullipoli, but this was severely criticised by some authorities and has been abandoned. Subject to final approval at a meeting to be held shortly it is proposed to erect an entirely different form of memorial, more adapted to the contours of the commanding hillside position which it will occupy at Point Halswell, in Wellington Harbour.
