TRAIN-WRECKING.
TWO YOUTHS ADMIT ATTEMPT SUBNORMAL MENTALITY. NAMES SUPPRESSED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON, N., Monday. Two youths, whose names were suppressed, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate's Court to-day to five indict iblc charges, including three of arson, o;ic of attempted train-wrecking and one of cutting telephone wires. They were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. In applying for suppression of the names, defending counsel said both lads were of subnormal mentality, although not of a class requiring detention in a mental hospital. The parents if both lads had done everything possible to help them. Neither could keep a position for more than a month and neither could be taught anything.
