"T.G.A.F.C. 25/8,"

A WEABT PIGEON. j SEEKS SHELTER OF SHIP'S BRIDGE. Worn out after a long flight, a stormdriven pigeon sought refuge on the s.?. Katoa when the vessel was about ten miles abreast of Napier on Saturday. For the remainder of the voyage to Auckland the feathered guest 'was entertained on board and this morning it was freed. When picked up by one of the ship's officers on the bridge the pigeon was completely exhausted, but with food, water and kind treatment, it soon recovered. A cock, the pigeon was of the homing variety and a ring on its leg bore the letters T.C.A.F.C. 25 over 8. By the time the Katoa reached Auckland last evening the bird was in excellent condition after its two days , rest and this morning it was liberated in the hope that it would find its way back to its home loft.
