A CLARION CALL.
TO DUNEDIN TBAMWATMEN. FEDERATION CIRCULAR TO UNIONISTS. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") DUNEDIN, this day.
"It has come under our that there is a move on by a small section of Dunedin tramwaymen to endeavour to get the union to withdraw from the Tramwaymen's Federation," states a circular which was distributed among Dunein tramwaymen by an official of the Otago District Council of the New Zealand Alliance of Labour. "We are in hope that tramwaymen will be better advised, and that they will *not take such a step to disorganise their forces," continues the circular. "We recognise that the Tramwaymen's Union is an important union in the transport industry, and a split in this federation would be welcomed with jubilation by employers. We would suggest that certain influences are hard at work to try and disorganise the workers. The Government has introduced a scheme of reducing wages, which is whole-heartedly supported by the whole of the employers of New Zealand. Tramwaymen! _We want your assistance to fight starvation wages, and you can assist us best as the Tramwaymen's Federation, not as a single unit isolated by yourselves in Dunedin."
