GOLDEN WEDDING.
ME. AND MRS. T. WALLBANK. Large families are eo rare nowadays that the golden wedding of two Point Chevalier residents was exceptionally interesting. The couple were Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wallbarik, of 122, Point Chevalier Road, and at the gathering all the five children surviving put of nine were present. There are five sons and two daughters, and between them they account for no less than thirty grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Wallbank were married at Atherstone, Warwickshire, in 1877. They came to New Zealand in the year 18S4 in the ship Northumberland. On that voyage the ship was making her first passage to New Zealand. Four years later she came to grief at Napier, being blown ashore during a gale, and becoming a total wreck. Although Mr. Wallbank's eons are pretty scattered they all came to Auckland for the golden wedding celebration, and the two daughters, who live in Auckland, were also present. The guests numbered about sixty, most of them being members of the family.
