* Dan Reese Pleased With Quality of Batting. I GOOD EPPECT IN ENGLAND. (By Telegraph.—P-ess Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. ; Pleasure at the opening score of the I New Zealand team wae expressed this morning by Mr. Dan Reese, chairman of the New Zealand Cricket Council. ! "Such a wonderful opening score will give delight to cricketers throughout the Dominion, and justify our confidence in the batting strength of the team," said 1 Mr. Reese. "It is to be hopea that the bowlers will do their share, for such a i score will have an immense effect in England, and create a great deal of interest in the first serious match of the tour, against M.C.C., at Lords, on Wednesday.
