PUBLISHED A DOUBLE CHART

I solicit your patronage, which I feel eure will be continued permanently." Such was the text of a circular sent out to a client by Charles Leslie Waiters and which was handed to Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., to read at the Police Court this morning when Wattere pleaded guilty to a charge of having published a double chart on the Eaeter Handicap and Brighton Hurdles, run at Auckland on April Iβ, last. Chief Detective Cumminge, who handed the circular to the magistrate ■aid that Wattere wa* a bookmaker who parried on his business in a large building in Queen Street. "This circular was posted to one of his clients and the client sent it to me, sir," added Mr. Cummings. "Well, I suppose I will just have to fine him. That will be the end of the etory," said Mr. Hunt, who assessed £10 ae the amount of Watter'e fine.
"Does he want time to pay?' asked Mr. Hunt.
Chief Detective Cummings: No sir, he's already paid in cash. (Laughter.)
