MOTOR ACCIDENTS.
CAR OVERTURNED. MISHAP ON EAST COAST ROAD. TWO PASSENGERS IN HOSPITAL. An unenviable experience was undergone by a party of motorists on tinroad from Te Puke to Whakatane at about u o'clock on Saturday evening. The car was in charge of its owner, Mr. David Cambie, a sawmiller of Tauranga, the other passengers being Mrs. Cambie, who was seated in the front with her husband, and Messrs. It. Grey, A. Findlay and the driver's son, Mr. D. K. Cambie. According to the details available, the car, was about- three miles from Te Puke, when a long stretch of loose metal was approached. Without warning, the car swerved and skidded for a distance of approximately two chains, then turned in the opposite direction and capsized. Mr. Cambie, who was found pinned beneath the steering-wheel, was extricated only with the utmost difficulty. When removed to the Tc Puke Hospital, he was found to have several broken ribs and injuries to his chest. Mrs. Cambie, who was also admitted t<> the institution, had a rib broken, and her shoulder was badly bruised. None of the other occupants escaped without injuries of some description, although they were able to return ti their homes after receiving attention. .Mr. Findlay received a broken no.*e and injuries to one knee, and Mr. CJrey had one of his arms badly hurt. " Mr. Cambie, jun., was sufTcrinjr from severe shock through receiving a bad knock on the head. The car was wrecked.
