AUCKLAND HOSPITAL KEPT BUSY.

Holiday week-end was not without its crop of accidents on land and sea, but, with the tragic exception of the disaster in Rangitoto Channel, the others were mostly of a minor nature. Whilst working on Prince's Wharf on Saturday afternoon, a young man named Coole was caught between a tru.ck and a railway engine. He was lucky to escape with an injury to the leg and several severe bruises. After treatment by the St. John Ambulance men he was taken home.

Mr. N. C. Marshall, of Seddon Street, Buckland, was rather badly knocked about as the result of a fall from his motor cycle whilst riding along Papakura Road on Saturday afternoon. He was taken to the hospital, where his condition is reported to be fairly serious. He was feeling more comfortable to-dav.

Mr William Carroll, 4.5, of 46, Grey Street, is also a hospital in-patient. He was knocked down by a motor car in Grey Street on Saturday and sustained concussion of the brain. He was reported to-day to be progressing favourably.

A lad of 14, Walter Pearson, of 37, Victoria Crescent, Newmarket, fell from his bicycle whilst riding in Khyber Pass Road on Saturday morning and sustained a cut over the left eye and an injury to the leg. The damage is not regarded as serious.
