The chairman said he was quite I prepared to resign, but a«ked the member to explain himself. He also pointed out that with few exceptions the committee's recommendations had Ik-cii adopted. After several second?.' silence the Kev. \Y. C. Wood asked if there was hii.v business, before the board, whereupon the chairman again rose and told Mr. Wood that he had made a statement at the last meeting, and again asked him to explain it. Mr. Wood then replied that he was not there to be catechised by the chairman or anyone else, and that he could say whatever pleased him' as long as it , wi.'- about the business and at the right time. "I am here to do business, not to j play," he added. The- chairman then remarked that I silence gives consent, and moved that the board express confidence in the caplabilities of the work* committee to do its work.
