THE ROYAL VISIT.
LEAVING FOR ROTORUA.
ROYAL TRAIN ARRANGEMENTS
PRECAUTIONS ON STATION
All is in readiness as far as the Railway Department is concerued, for the departure of their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of \ork from Auckland for Rotorua on Saturday morning. If the pilot, Royal and emergency trains were needed this afternoon they could be at the station within an hour. The trains have had a thorough "spring cleaning." and bear a most spic and span appearance. The arch through the railway station offices, which leads on to the main arrival platform, has been tastefully decorated with greenery, flags and other emblems.
The Royal train will be standing at the platform for fully half an hour before the Royal guests are due to arrive. The Royal saloon car will be placed directly opposite the archway.
The pilot train, which leaves twenty minutes ahead of the Royal, that is to say, 9.10 a.m., will take her departure from No. 2 platform, and the emergency train, leaving at 9.40 a.m., will leave from the same place.
The general public will not be allowed on Nos. 1, 2 or 3 platforms, and only those with special tickets, or passes, will be admitted. No train will arrive at or depart from the station for some time before the Royal train leaves, and for at least a-quarter of an hour after her departure. The space in the precincts of the station will be roped off, and a cordon of police will be on duty from an early hour.
