NORTHCOTE AND BIRKENHEAD REGATTA. ENTRIES CLOSE ON MONDAY Arrangements for the Northcote and Birkenhead regatta, to !>e held on Saturday week. March 5 were advanced at a meeting of the General Committee last evening. Mr A. V. Tyer presiding. Messrs. C. E. Campbell and I 1 E. Laycock were appointed judges of the yachting and lannch events, entries for which close on Monday evening, between 7.30 and o'clock, at the Northcote Borough Chambers Up to 5 p.m. the same day entries may be left with the secretary (Mr. Noel J. Campbell) at the Auckland office. Endean's Buildings of Campbell Traders. Ltd., and with Mr. Hewson. at Messrs. John Burns and Co.. Customs Street List. The good response for donations towards the prize fund has enabled better prizes to be offered. In the \ and B. C and E. H. L. and N classes the value of the tirst prize has been raised to £6 the second to £1 10/, and the third to £1. For the classes M, V. S, T, X. V. and local auxiliaries and launches, the respective allocations are £5, £1 and 10, . The courses decided upon are:— For A and B. C and E. and H, L. N classes.—Start between Kona buoy and flag ship moored north, thence round Resolution buoy on port hand, th.nce round white light on starboard hand, thence round mark boat off Chelsea. 6tarboard hand, finishing at starting line. For M. V, S, and T. X, Y classes.—Start between Rona buoy and flagship mooml north, thence round dredge Maui on port hand, thence round outer Bayswater beacon on port hand, thence round mark boat off Chelsea on starboard hand, finishing at starting line. Twice round. For local boats, ISft and under and loc.il auxiliary. — The second course. Once round For local launch race.—Start betwe.-n Rona buoy nnd tiagship moored north thence round sandspit beacon on port hand, thence round pile beacon off Chelsea, finishing at starting line. All marks to be kept on port hand. The Birkenhead Rorough Band has consented to play a musical programme at the regatta.
