KAULY COLONIST'S BIRTHDAY
One of Auckland's earliest Colonists. Mrs. Ernest Hill, who arrived in Auckland with her parents in the Imrquc Westminster in 1542. celebrated her ninety-fourth birthday at Mt. Roskill yesterday. A large gathering of her descendants and relatives assembled to congratulate Mrs. Hill, who is still wonderfully active, considering her age. those present including her son. Mr. William Hill, grandson. Mr. Carl Hill, and six great-grandchildren, four generations being thus represented. Mrs. Williams, a sister, and her son and three nieces, the Misses Wilson, who returned from a two years' tour bv the Niagara, were also present, and a number of other relatives added their felicitations. Mrs. Hill has resided continuously in Auckland since her arrival at the age of nine.
