CAR CAPSIZES INTO CREEK.

DRIVER'S WIFE SUFFOCATED. OTHERS ESCAPE DEATH. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORNE, Thursday. A motor fatality occurred near Turehau, on the East Coast Road, late this afternoon. Mr. Charles Hansen, with his wife and daughter, was returning from the Tologa Bay races. In turning a sharp corner on to a bridge over a stream the car struck the approach post on the right. The car skidded, swerved, smashed through the bridge rails, and fell upside down into the creek 10 feet below. Mrs. Hansen was pinned under the car and suffocated. Her husband and daughter were thrown clear and escaped with bruises.
