IN THE NICK OF TIME.

FISHERS SAVED FROM DROWNING.

Two Aucklanders, Messrs. A. Simpson and J. Boyd, had a perilous experience in the Tamaki River on Monday afternoon. They were fishing off Point England in a small boat. While the anchor was being pulled up the boat capsized, and they were thrown into the water.

The position of the men soon became desperate. Mr, Boyd could not swim well, but with the assistance of Mr. Simpson he kept from sinking. Half a mile away from the place where the boat capsized Messrs. D. Ireland and B. Bond were fishing, and, observing the plight of the struggling men, rowed hard to the rescue, which was effected in the nick of time. Mr. Bond, a member of ths St. John Ambulance Brigade, gave first aid assistance.
