AMATEUR SPORTS.
ROSE'S GISBORNE ENGAGEMENTS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Rose w ill not participate in the athletic sports at Poverty Bay on January 3. When he consented, he thought the meeting was in amateur hands, and he would be able to give amateur sport a helping hand. It is likely, however, he will appear at an amateur sports meeting in Poverty Bay in the middle of January.
