STABLE AND TRACK GOSSIP. (By YTHALEBOKE.) December 27—Waipukurau J.C. December 27, 28—Westland K.C. December -1. 28 —Taranaki J.C. December 27, 2S—Dunedin J.C. December 27, 2S, 30 —Mnnawatu K.C. Dpc. 31, January 1, 4—Greymouth J.C. Doc. 27, 20, January 1, 3—Auckland B.C. Tutankhamen is to be sent to Sydney in the near future. H. Eva hae a nice two-year-old by Xateau from Glissando. Glissando won the. Avondale Guineas in 1913. Magna Charta, the three-year-old by King John from Landrail, moved well over seven furlongs at Ellerslie yesterday morning. As a two-year-old last season he won one race and was placed on three other occasions. He is engaged in the Queen's Plate fin the opening day of the A.E.C. meeting. If a suitable rider can be procured for The Thorn lie may take his place in th? Railway Handicap field. He showed a •rood turn of speed yesterday at Ellerslie when he strode over half a mile with Lvsander. Deluge, from the same stable, is* also "engag-ed in the Railway Handicap, and if he would run up to the work ; lie shows on the home track, he would . be hard to dispose of. When writing up the gallops at Ellerslie yesterday. I made an erorr in regard . to one of the liorees. It wae Footfall : that went with Count Cavour, and it was in the hurry in writing up that Battlement wae mentioned in thie instance instead of Footfall, for the note I made on the course clearly shows it was Foot- ] fall. The time was 2.5 for the round. ; Gauntlet, eince being put to hurdle • racing, liae won a couple of events, the \ last being over a mile and three-quartere < at Feilding. He is engaged in the hurdle events at Ellerslie, most of which are over two miles, and considering he beat Nukumai, Koauau, Comedy Prince ' and others at Feilding, he may show to i advantage here. Mask appears to be going along the right way. His best credentials as a stayer were when he beat Star Stranger in the Great Northern St. Leger at Ellerslie last Mask has only won one race this season and that was when he annexed the King Edward Handicap, one mile and a-quarter, at the Auckland spring meeting. E. Ludlow will be on Mervette, Nadarino, Charlady, Zane Grey and King Emerald at the Auckland meeting. R. Reilly will pilot Gold Fern, Master Doon and Kamehameha. J. Cammick will ride Chairman,-Battlement, Tall Timber and Auriculiß. A. Rutherford will be on Pentagram. Among A. Driscoll's mounts will be Piuthair (if started in the Cup), Golden Krist, Mosaic, King Smock and Segment. Agrion and Eulalie were taken to Sydney, and j|he latter won the Stakes. Subsequently Agrion ran second to Eoyal Ceres at the New Zealand Cup meeting and won the spring Nureery at the same fixture. Eulalie lias only etarted once eince her return to' New Zealand, and that was in the Welcome Stakes at Eiccafton when she was beaten easily by Cimabue. Both are engaged in the Great Northern Foal Stakes. If Tc Kara won the Auckland Cup this year he would have the best", record" in connection with this event since; 1888, when Nelson won the event for the third time in succession. Since then, Blue Jacket won ■it ■ twice in euccession, while All, Red put up a similar performance about nine years later. Te Kara deadheated with Muraahi in 1923, and the following year won the event. The son of General Latour looks pretty well, and with 9.0 he is not badly treated. This is only 31b more than he carried to victory in 1924. O. Cullum, a New Zealand rider, did not take long to show his ability in Adelaide.* He only arrived in that city from the Dominion a couple of weeks ago, in company with B. Kosen, and the pair started riding in Adelaide on Saturday (says the Melbourne "Globe" of December 15). Cullum had the mount . on Lc«rd Hatan in the Hurdle Eace, and he landed the gelding a clever winner from Vera K. Eosen had the mount on Steel Bronze in the December Handicap, and the. gelding ran second. Cullum is a nice cool rider, and he should do well in Adelaide. The following are the probable ridere for the Auckland Cup:—R. ' Reed (Rapine), B. Morris (Star Stranger), F. Porter (Count Cavour), L. Morrie {Te Monanui), Rl McTavieb (Te Kara), L. Pine (Mask), S. Henderson (Tanadees), H. Wiggine (Mandane), C. Goldsboro (Star Ranger), J. Barry (Footfall), H. Lee (Desert Glow), C. Davies (Diogenes,), -"J. Cammick (Battlement), A. Drisooll (Piuthair), T. Green (Clarinda), W. Jones (Nippy)," R. Eeilly (Kamehameha), F. Foster (Lord Star). If E. Ludlow can get down to the weight he will be on Town Bank. Count Cavour was given" a. round at Ellerslie yesterday on the course pro- 1 per,, and though" he did not register the time put up by some of the other candidates over a similar distance, he went along very nicely. "The Count" was rather unlucky to be beaten in 4he last Auckland Cup, but he is meeting his conqueror on that occasion (Eapine) on 51b. worse terms this year,, but in.the interim he has beaten Eapine in the New Zealand Cup at a difference of 71b., Eapine having 9.6 and Count Cavour 8.13. Eapine has improved considerably since then, as his running on subsequent - days ■at -the Riccarton fixture showed, and he is "sure to have something to say at the finish". Licinius was a good two-year-old, winning in his first .threfe starts "and filling positions in a similar races out of the total of sis starts. As a three-year-old he was rather unlucky being placed on half-a-dozen occasions, including seconds, in two of the chief open sprints at the Wellington summer meeting—the Telegraph Handicap and the City Handicap, won by Cawnpore and Shirley respectively. This season he has five placings and a win to his credit. He was second in the Stewards' -Handicap at Eiccarton and second to Grand Knight in- the Criterion Handicap at the same fixture. Licinius is in the Railway Handicap at Auckland and lie witt b* in demand. -_^_-:;-'"_i'J'., 'I^.

A number of horses arrived from New Plymouth at Onehunga by the Rarawa this morning for the Auckland Cup meeting. They were Te Monanui, Melissa, Mint Leaf, Seatown, Merry Jesty and Lady Cavendish. Breezy, a half relative to Stormy, wae also brought north by the same steamer. Archibald has shown himself to be a good hurdler, while his recent efforts on the flat prove that he hae lost none of his speed. He went nicely over a round of the schooling hurdles at Ellerslie yesterday morning, and though not accepted for in the Grafton Hurdlee on the firet day he figures in the nominations for hurdle events on subsequent days.
