MANAWATU QUALITY.
" EXCEPTIONALLY HIGH." Reviewing the present position of the dairy industry in its district, the "Manawatu Times" says: "The most outstanding feature of the present season, however, is the exceptionaUy high quality of butter and cheese sent to the grading stores. At the monthly meeting of the Awahuri Dairy Company, for instance, it was stated that the average grading for SO tons of finest butter was 95.102 for the past month, figures which are indicative also of the quality of butter turned out by *a number of other factories in the district. Cheese shows a similar improvement. The Kairanga Dairy Company during the past month made approximately 100 tons of cheese with an average grade of nearly 94 points. If such excellent results have been achieved before the inauguration of compulsory cream grading and the enforcement of new dairy regulation in general, it will be interesting to see if any appreciable difference will become noticeable in future.
