HAMILTON, this day

- George Herbert Bellamy, formerly clerk to the Cambridge Road Board, was sentenced to three years' probation for the theft of £44 1/3, moneys belonging to the board.

! The magistrate said that on account of accused's previous respectability and bad health, reduction in salary, and financial difficulties over a farm, he had made the j sentence light, it being a condition of probation that fiill restitution be made as soon as possible.
