"GO TO SITTING ROOM!"
BOARDER AND FRIENDS. LICENSEE EXONERATED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) ROTORUA, this day. In the case, Police against H. Lloyd, licensee of the Lake House Hotel, for selling liquor -after hours, the magistrate held the the licensee had not acted unlawfully in selling liquor to a lodger for his friends, and dismissed the charge. The magistrate considered that the two friends were well advised to plead guilty to being unlawfully on the premises, in that they were standing at the slide in the bar, instead of going to the sitting room. They were fined 10/ and costs, 7/.
