TRADE DESCRIPTIONS.
(By Te't-graph.—Special to "Star.")
CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Reserved decision has been given by Mr. H. P. Lawry, S.M., in the cases in which the Christchurch Clothing Factory, Sargood, Son and Ewen, Ltd., and Bmg, Harris and Co., Ltd., were chared with a breach of the Trades and Patents Act, 1908, the allegation being that they appbed false descriptions to clothing made up f rom i mported materials by attaching tickets purporting to show that it was colonial made. The magistrate, in dismissing the informations, said he was satisfied that no offence had been committed by any of the defendants as there was nothing on the tickets attached to the goods which could be construed to mean that the materials were actually made in New Zealand, and the pastoral scenes on some of the tickets were not necessarily representations of New. Zealand acenea.
