COMPANY AFFAIRS.
SOUTHERN CROSS GLASS CO. The Southern Cross Glass Co., which is to Introduce the plate glass manufacturing industry to New Zealand, has been duly registered, and a commencement lias been made with the erection or the works at Mount Somers, in the Ashburton district. At the statutory meeting in Christrhurcli last week, the chairmnn, Mr. W. R. Tate, stated that the initial difficulties with the formation or the company had now been all overcome. Over IS,OOO shares had been subscribed by the public, and a start had been made with the works at Ashburton. The company was originally incorporated in Australia, but at the request or the New Zealand shareholders had been re-Incorporated as a New Zealand company.
