Fxost, the chairman of the Committee. AJt.TJ., presented the Northern Roller MIIU Shield to the Thames Y.-xlir-y Public Schools team. The tournamont produced some splendid ■football. Five country teams and three local teams and the games were all keenly contests! Thames Valley were never really extended. Thisfteam is a fast, heavy combination, and the boys have been well schooled. Their opponents in the final, Auckland South, deserve great praise for their determined play throughout the competition. Though Hght'in all departments they play a fast open same. The Auckland Rugby Union (must tie congratulated upon the success, of the Primary School games.' At one stage there was a possiblity of the tournament lapsing owing to insufficient billeting, but the A.H.U. stepped in and within twenty-four boars the difficulty had been overcome.
