ANNUAL DINNER.
I The annual dinner of the Aucklan* i Master Bakers' Association was held on Saturday evening in Nairn's tea rooms. i Mr. C. Cowan presided, and. in respond- ' isyr to the toast of the association, exI pressed the hope that the time was not j tar distant when every master baker lin Auckland would be linked up with. the association. Mr. H. Woods. in. responding to the toast of the Master Grocers' Association, appealed for closer co-operation between the two trades. J The toast of the "Milling and Allied I Trades'' was proposed by Sir. B. Lane, ! and responded to by Messrs. OVonnor ■ and Wringer. • Responding to the toast of '"Past Members."' proposed by Mr. J. McGregor Mr. T. King said he was the oldest master baker iv Auckland, and had been a member of the association for almost half a century. Mr. G. A.*j\ proposed the toast of "The New Zealand Bakers and Pastrycooks' Association," which was reI sponded to by the Dominion president, , Mr. (4. K. Mathieson. Complimentary j references were made to the work of Mr. I Heaton P.arker as secretary. Vocal items were rendered by Messrs. i Walter J'ruiigh ami Con. Welson, and the New Zealand Four. Mr. C. H. Worsley acted as a companist.
