WAITAKI OLD BOYS.
RE-UXIOX DIXXER
The local branch of the Waitaki Old Boys' Association, with Mr. Cllltha Mackenzie as president, and Mr. Hassell Garland as honorary secretary, is organising a re-union dinner to take place on September 5, when it will entertain the school's well-known head. Mr. Frank Milner. This is the first occasion on which Waitaki Old Boys have held such a gathering in Auckland, and it promises to be a great success. Word has been received at the Waitaki High School that A. J. Harrop, a wellknown Auckland Waitakian, has been awarded the Doctorate of Philosophy at Cambridge University for research in history and Bruce Elliot, son of Sir George Elliot, of Auckland, who is taking the law course at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, has gained first-class honours in the Law Tripos. His tutor writes that Elliot will also be awarded a law scholarship. Other Waitakians who have recently entered Trinity Hall, Cambridge, arc lan Blyth (Auckland), Denis Bhindell (Wellington) and Jules Malfroy (Wellington). The last named has been awarded the travelling lawscholarship by the New Zealand University. Bruce Elliot has been elected secretary of the Hetiki Club, the association of New Zealand University students at Oxford and Cambridge, of which Sir James Parr is president. G. P. Elliot of Auckland will also shortly enter Trinity Hall, Cambridge. Lan MacEwan. of Wellington, has lately returned to Xew Zealand after graduating at Trinity Hall.
