It was lucky for the Victoria League g (writes the correspondent of the "Sun," Sydney) that the at home given as a sort of house warming for the new premises was held before the strike. It was only a "small and early" affair, but ver,y pleasant all the same. Lady Hanbury Williams was to have been hostess, but-was unable to attend, co her young daughter took her place. The new quarters, are a great improvement on the former rooms in Eccleston Square; much more get-at-able for one thing. The others always seemed at the "back o' beyond" to anyone who did not live near Victoria Station. The league is now housed just in the middle of that most popular thoroughfare for overseas pepple, , Cromwell, Road, Kensington. The position is charming, and there are spacious reception rooms as well as much better accommodation for the office staff. The strike prevented members taking full advantage of the good services of the league in the shape of their organised excursions to various historical places; still, in many other ways, . they are helpful to strangers, and kindly welcomes are always extended to travellers who are under the auspices of the V.L.
